Your duties

In the role of strategic purchaser, you are responsible for the entire commercial process, from inquiries and negotiation to contract signing and supplier development. The role also involves responsibility for developing and managing supplier relationships as well as ensuring competitiveness, quality, compliance with requirements, and long-term value creation.

The role requires close collaboration and continuous dialogue with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers. It requires a structured way of working, the ability to lead supplier teams, and a good understanding of both business benefit and total cost perspectives. This involves more in-depth areas of responsibility, such as:

• driving advanced procurements and negotiations with strategic suppliers both nationally and internationally • responsibility for commercial agreements and long-term supplier strategies • ensuring competitive and sustainable business solutions throughout the entire product lifecycle • driving the development, follow-up, and execution of category and supplier strategies • working closely with internal stakeholders within several parts of the business • participating in strategic projects related to, for example, localization and development of supply chains • leading and collaborating with other strategists as well as operational purchasers

Your profile

We are looking for someone who has experience in business strategic work and enjoys cross-functional collaboration. You are proactive, adaptable, and motivated by working in a changing environment. You have good negotiation experience in international contexts, the ability to analyze total cost over the lifecycle, and are skilled at building long-term relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

We believe you have:

• Engineering/Economics education or equivalent academic background • Great interest in technology and understanding • Minimum 10 years of experience in strategic purchasing • Good experience of advanced negotiations in complex business environments • Good experience in developing and managing strategic supplier relationships • Good experience in contract work and commercial negotiations • Very good understanding of business and legal issues • Experience from industrial or technology-driven operations • Very good knowledge of English in speech and writing • Experience from international organizations

It is considered meritorious if you have previous work experience within the industry.

The position requires that you undergo and be approved according to the currently applicable provisions for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security clearance classification, this may, where applicable, involve requirements for certain citizenship.
