Cost Control Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control project costs against approved budgets throughout the project lifecycle to ensure financial compliance.
• Prepare and maintain detailed project budgets, cost reports, forecasts, and cost projections to support decision-making.
• Track actual expenditures, commitments, subcontractor costs, procurement costs, and variations to maintain accurate financial records.
• Analyze cost variances to identify potential cost overruns and risks, enabling proactive mitigation strategies.
• Generate and deliver monthly cost reports providing timely and accurate cost information to Project Management.
• Review subcontractor and supplier payment claims for compliance with contract terms, work progress, and supporting documentation.

Required competencies and certifications

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction cost control.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience in large-scale building construction projects.
• Knowledge of construction cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting.
• Experience monitoring subcontractor costs, procurement costs, variations, and claims.
