Do you or your family want to be a respite provider for a child? Skaun kommune is seeking a respite provider, or possibly a respite family, for a child. Respite is intended to prevent exhaustion in families and contribute to a meaningful and safe everyday life for children with various challenges, diagnoses, and family situations. In your application, write a little about yourself, your interests, and your living situation, as well as who else may live with you.

What does it involve? Respite for 48 hours one weekend a month. Organization of respite is agreed upon directly between the guardian and the respite provider. It is possible to combine weekend respite with 16 hours (hourly respite) for more continuity, but this is not a requirement. During the getting-to-know-you period, one will start in the child's home to build a secure relationship before the child is taken out to activities and home to the respite provider. As a respite provider, you will have close cooperation with the guardians. The respite will contribute to the guardians getting a breathing space to care for other children and have an active life outside the home. The time is agreed upon with the guardians, and together you will create a plan for respite and working hours moving forward. The guardian is flexible on weekends. Relevant activities will vary, depending on what suits and is appropriate for the individual child and family. It is important that you, as a respite provider, take the initiative for activities and tasks. This applies to the following child: The child is an 11-year-old girl who has a need for extra support and help in everyday life. The person who will be with the child should have an interest in gaming, as this is one of her greatest interests. She especially likes Minecraft and Roblox. The child has a need for a secure and active respite provider who can be with her in activities, take her out, and create meaningful and pleasant experiences. The respite provider should be able to facilitate and support her interests. She enjoys playing with stuffed animals and is creative with both painting and drawing. Furthermore, she thrives very well in the swimming pool, on a trampoline, and with participating in simple cooking. She has an interest in research projects and experiments, such as making crystals. She is naturally curious and likes to explore, investigate, and learn new things. The child is good at communicating and expressing her own thoughts, feelings, and needs. Contact us if you are interested in all or part of the assignment. 48 hours one weekend a month and/or 16 hours (hourly respite).
