Utilities Avoidance Manager

We are currently looking for a Utilities Avoidance Manager who will provide specialist support, guidance and mentoring to operational teams to help prevent contact with overhead and underground utilities.

As the Utilities Avoidance Manager, you will:

• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the utility avoidance strategy across Infrastructure projects.
• Provide management, mentoring and technical support to Utility Appointed Persons (UAPs) across the operating unit.
• Conduct audits, inspections and spot checks of utility avoidance activities, permits and equipment on project sites.
• Monitor and manage CAT and Genny usage, scanning data and compliance through digital and reporting systems.
• Deliver Utility Avoidance briefings, toolbox talks and awareness sessions across projects.
• Support project teams during investigations relating to utility strikes, near misses and service damage incidents.
• Develop and maintain utility avoidance training, procedures, standards and guidance documentation.

We are looking for:

• Extensive utility avoidance, utility surveying or a related discipline.
• Thourough understanding of underground and overhead utility infrastructure and associated risks.
• Experience investigating utility strikes and implementing corrective actions.
• You will be ProQual Level 5 Utility Mapping and Service avoidance accredited.
