DESCRIPTION

Our client, a plastic processing industrial company located in Loire-Atlantique and part of a European industrial group, manufactures technical parts for various industrial markets. They are creating a position for a Materials / Polymers Engineer, reporting to the Management.

Raw material directly conditions the quality of parts, yields, and production costs. The company wishes to make this a full-fledged area of expertise: qualification of grades and suppliers, testing and industrialization of new materials, reliability of preparation stages, and scaling up of recycled materials.

The position is technical and field-based. You will work in contact with the production, purchasing, and quality teams, with the necessary autonomy to build methods and frameworks that do not yet exist.

Your main missions:

• Qualify polymers and their suppliers: new grades, formulations, analysis of material behavior, testing, and industrialization recommendations;
• Ensure the reliability of material preparation stages (grinding, micronization, dosing): parameters, settings, operating procedures, and control standards;
• Build and maintain a material database (characteristics, tests, supplier history);
• Utilize consumption data (ERP, Power BI) to analyze variances, yields, and scrap;
• Contribute to the integration of recycled materials and the monitoring of regulatory requirements (traceability, circular economy, PPWR);
• Support production teams on operating procedures, best practices, and material culture.

• A field-based position at an industrial site in Loire-Atlantique (44), near Saint-Nazaire
• Compensation of 50 to 55 K€ gross annual on 13 months, depending on profile and experience

SEARCH PROFILE

An Engineer or experienced Technician in polymer materials, plastics, process engineering, or industrial engineering, you have practiced polymer processing in an industrial environment. Significant field experience compensates for a different level of degree.

You are familiar with common and technical polymers (PE, PP, PA) and associated processes: extrusion, compounding, grinding, micronization, powder preparation, or recycling. You know how to conduct a test, document a result, and analyze a material, process, or consumption drift. You are comfortable with Excel, an ERP, and reporting tools. English is necessary to communicate with suppliers and international interlocutors.

The position requires rigor, autonomy, and a taste for the field: it involves structuring an activity that is not yet formalized and working with production, purchasing, quality, and the design office.
