Overview of the Role
- The Digital Construction Lead will report to the Chief Engineer within the Technical Delivery Team to manage all aspects of information management and digital/information systems.
Introduction to the Project/Department
- Kier are supporting the delivery of Sizewell C, a major 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station under construction on the Suffolk coast in England, via a framework for Civils Infrastructure. The Technical Delivery Team, led by the Chief Engineer, manage all technical aspects including Engineering Management, Temporary Works, Quality Control and Assurance, BIM and Information Management, Technical Configuration, and Design Management. - Kier is committed to creating a workplace where everyone is empowered to achieve their career goals. Key tasks and accountabilities
- Monitor the completion of our IM Gateway forms across all tenders to fulfil assurance procedures relating to early assessment of design team capability and internal resource considerations. - Responsible for ensuring Exchange Information Requirements and Asset Information Requirements are responded to and delivered across relevant project(s) - Responsible for ensuring the use of the common data environment to manage, share and exchange information, adhering to ISO 19650 across relevant projects - Responsible for support and audit of the project team to ensure standards, methods and procedures using specified software / workflows are in use - Share best practice with Head of Digital Construction and work on continued improvement of PLM resources - Responsible for promoting digital strategies that are implemented across the business and projects and provide feedback to the Head of Digital Construction to ensure progress is being made and commitment to documentation is being observed - Monitor and manage software utilisation and maturity across region - Responsible for provision of case studies relating to the projects across region - Act as direct point of contact for bid teams, supporting PQQs and ITT submissions - Ensure supply chain capabilities assessments are completed scored for the project - Oversee consistent use of the BIM Execution Plan and other documents that have been produced for the project(s) - Accountable for contributing to monthly reports to identify and measure digital implementation within the business unit and across projects - Collaborate with Digital Construction Lead to support the digital strategy through feedback - Responsible for raising awareness and the profile of digital implementation within the business unit / project functional departments including business development, work winning, estimating, design management, building services, commercial, planning, operational and SHEQ driving our cultural and behavioural change to a digital first mentality - Responsible for career development, coaching, and mentoring of direct and indirect reports - Lead aspects of our ISO 19650 audit process through presentation of project execution - Build and maintain relationships with internal / external stakeholders to facilitate strategic initiatives and priorities - Responsible for comms and marketing content - Lead, attend and present at Digital Construction Forums - Develop an externally facing comms presence - Advocate Kier's capabilities to key clients and lead supply chain engagement workshops - Represent Kier at industry groups / events - Provide line management to digital construction team / information management team. - Plan and manage resources across region, managing pipeline, and ensuring projects are supported adequately with respect to resourcing and hardware/software deployment - Ensure any new innovations are fed back into the appropriate business unit/project platform - Ensure any innovative solutions are managed through the appropriate onboarding process.
