Senior Professional Fleet Optimization (m/w/d)

One of the most complex tasks at our stations is daily fleet management: How can the best possible result be achieved with the available vehicles – both from a commercial and a customer perspective? You will become part of a team based in Pullach that develops software using data-driven approaches to answer exactly this question. In doing so, a variety of different interests must be taken into account while simultaneously handling a high degree of uncertainty. Your work will contribute decisively to designing optimization algorithms and integrating them into existing systems in a practical manner. Sounds interesting? YOUR ROLE AT SIXT

• Conceptual Work & Sparring: You contribute your own ideas, think through solution approaches critically, and act as an active discussion partner for conceptual questions – from the first sketch through to implementation and the analysis of impacts.
• Data Analysis & Dashboards: You monitor the development of key performance indicators, support the further development of data models, and ensure that the effects of new approaches can always be evaluated using a data-driven approach.
• Simulation Tools: You further expand existing simulation applications and develop new tools – with a wide toolbox ranging from classic Business Intelligence systems to modern AI frameworks.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: You assist in testing the software, verify the correctness of event data and data pipelines, and ensure that our data foundation remains reliable.

YOUR SKILLS MATTER

• Education You have a completed degree (or are about to complete one) in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field
• Interest in Optimization You are interested in simulations, artificial intelligence, and classical optimization
• Practical Experience You have initial practical experience with Python and SQL (e.g., through internships, theses, or personal projects)
• BI & Data Modeling You have a fundamental understanding of BI systems, data modeling, and ETL processes
• Communication Skills You can prepare results clearly and understandably
• English You speak fluent English
