Senior Electrical Engineer
About the company
Founded in 1996 in the Netherlands, Sioux Technologies has grown into a global high-tech solutions partner with over 1,300 engineers across 11 offices in Europe and Asia, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Romania, China, Vietnam, Singapore, and India. As one of the largest privately-owned tech companies in the Netherlands, we partner with world-leading companies such as ASML, ASM International, Kulicke & Soffa, Philips, Siemens, and Thermo Fisher Scientific to build complex systems at the frontier of what is technically possible.
Our strength is the unique combination of competences we bring under one roof: software, mechatronics, mathware, electronics, physics & optics, mechanics, and assembly. Whether it is semiconductor inspection equipment, analytical instruments, or life-saving medical devices — we bring high-tech to life.
Sioux Singapore is a growing engineering hub working embedded within international project teams, collaborating daily with engineers in the Netherlands, India, and Vietnam across the full product lifecycle. At Sioux Singapore, you are a core part of the engineering team with real ownership of your domain and a genuine path to grow into senior and lead roles across our global network. The machines our Singapore team contributes to end up inside some of the world's most advanced semiconductor fabs, analytical laboratories, and medical facilities.
Your tasks
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in electrical CAD tools (EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical Professional, or similar) to perform electrical design and configuration management across multiple high-tech machine builds. You will work within an experienced multidisciplinary team, taking ownership of your design tasks from requirements through to release-ready documentation.
You will produce electrical CAD schematics and controlled documentation for semiconductor, analytical, and medical equipment, and drive configuration management standards across complex machine variants and builds. Prior experience in semiconductor capital equipment or a closely related high-precision industry is a strong advantage.
- Develop and maintain electrical CAD schematics (EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical Professional, or similar), single-line diagrams, cabinet layouts, wiring lists, BOMs, and cable calculations for new and existing machine builds.
- Own the electrical CAD tool's configuration management cycle: define, version, and maintain distinct build configurations (project templates, parts databases, macro libraries, form sets) for each machine platform.
- Govern electrical CAD project standards: naming conventions, symbol libraries, plot frames, and revision control workflows, ensuring consistency across the engineering team.
- Manage multi-variant machine configurations, maintaining clear separation of documentation sets across product families, machine generations, and customer-specific variants.
- Configure and audit legacy electrical CAD drawings, identify quality issues, and bring older projects into current standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in electronics, mechanics, and mechatronics to ensure designs are buildable, testable, and compliant with design-for-manufacturability and design-for-serviceability principles.
- Support panel build and commissioning teams with controlled, release-ready documentation packages.
Requirements
Must-have
- BE / Bsc or ME / Msc in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- 3+ years of electrical design experience in an industrial or high-tech machinery environment
- Proficient working knowledge of an electrical CAD tool such as EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical Professional, or similar: schematic design, parts management, parts database, macro creation, and project standards
- Experience producing electrical CAD drawings (EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical Professional, or similar) including master plans, wiring lists, and cable calculations
- Familiarity with Engineering Change Management (ECM), BOM preparation, and BOM release processes
- Understanding of IEC 60204-1 and core electrical safety standards (NEC, UL, SEMI)
- Component selection and ability to specify components for power distribution, protection circuits, sensors, and I/O controllers
- Sensor & signal wiring, grounding, shielding, cable & harness design, and high/low power distribution for precision machine environments
Nice-to-have
- AC power and control panel design knowledge (UL 508A or IEC standards)
- Semiconductor domain knowledge and hands-on experience in wafer processing, semiconductor capital equipment, etch/deposition, or analytical equipment
- Motor & drive systems integration (servo, stepper, or AC drives) in precision machinery
- Control circuit design (relay logic, PLC I/O, safety circuits)
