As part of our continued growth and organizational development, we are seeking an experienced and results-driven Human Resources Manager to lead our people strategy and provide strong HR leadership across our operations.

THE ROLE

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for providing strategic and operational HR leadership, ensuring effective people management, regulatory compliance, employee engagement, and the implementation of HR systems that support business growth and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will work closely with Management and departmental leaders to strengthen organizational structure, employee performance, workforce planning, and overall people effectiveness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

HR Strategy & Operations

  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the organization's business objectives.
  • Provide professional HR advisory support to Management and departmental heads.
  • Establish and maintain effective HR processes, systems, and controls across the organization.
  • Monitor workforce requirements and ensure effective manpower planning and deployment.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment and selection processes for management, supervisory, and operational positions.
  • Develop effective workforce planning strategies to support business expansion.
  • Ensure efficient onboarding and integration of new employees.

Performance Management

  • Develop and manage structured performance management and KPI systems.
  • Work with departmental heads and supervisors to establish measurable performance standards.
  • Monitor employee performance and recommend appropriate interventions where required.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Employee Relations & Discipline

  • Manage employee relations, grievances, disciplinary matters, investigations, and workplace conflicts professionally and fairly.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and disciplinary procedures.
  • Promote a professional, respectful, and performance-driven workplace culture.

Learning & Development

  • Identify organizational training needs and coordinate appropriate learning and development initiatives.
  • Develop programs that strengthen employee capability, leadership effectiveness, and service delivery.
  • Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.

Compliance & HR Governance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable Nigerian labour laws and statutory employment requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
  • Ensure employment contracts, policies, disciplinary records, leave records, and other HR documentation are properly maintained.
  • Liaise with relevant statutory and regulatory bodies where required.

HR Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare regular HR reports and workforce analytics for Management.
  • Track key HR metrics including headcount, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, performance, disciplinary cases, and employee engagement.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to support Management decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years' progressive HR experience , with at least 3 years in a managerial or senior HR leadership capacity.
  • Previous experience in retail, FMCG, hospitality, logistics, manufacturing, or another fast-paced, multi-department environment will be highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian employment practices, labour regulations, employee relations, and HR compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience managing recruitment, performance management, employee relations, HR operations, and workforce planning.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems is an advantage.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION

CIPM membership/certification is an added advantage.

Additional relevant professional certifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Management, or related fields will also be considered an advantage.
