The Singapore Environment Council (SEC) is an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability and responsible business practices. Through certification programmes, sustainability initiatives and stakeholder engagement, SEC works with organisations across industries to drive positive environmental impact.

We are looking for a driven, results-oriented Senior/Executive, Business Development & Partnerships to grow SEC's certification, sustainability and advisory business. About the Role

As a Senior/Executive, Client Engagement & Business Development, you will play an important role in growing SEC's certification and sustainability services. You will engage clients and partners, develop new business opportunities, support agreement development, and provide administrative support to ensure smooth departmental operations.

This is an individual contributor position with sales targets and opportunities to develop expertise in sustainability certification programmes and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify, qualify and pursue new business opportunities across SEC's certification, sustainability and advisory service offerings.
  • Achieve individual sales targets and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospects.
  • Generate leads through networking, outreach, industry events and targeted campaigns.
  • Conduct presentations and pitches to organisations interested in SEC's programmes and services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to secure renewals and expand business.

Partnerships & Deal Closing

  • Develop partnerships with industry associations, corporates, government agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Draft, format and negotiate business agreements, Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and partnership proposals.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external parties to move agreements through review to finalisation.
  • Maintain accurate records of agreements, proposals and deal status.

Events & Market Presence

  • Represent SEC at industry events, exhibitions, networking sessions and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Support the planning and execution of major SEC events and programmes to generate leads and partnerships.

Business Operations Support

  • Prepare sales reports, pipeline updates, presentations and management materials.
  • Coordinate meetings and follow-up actions with the Deputy Director, Client Engagement.
  • Support departmental projects and initiatives as required.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships or account management, with a track record of meeting targets.
  • Experience selling services in sustainability, certification, compliance, environmental services, professional services or consulting will be an advantage.
  • Candidates with strong business development experience but no sustainability background are encouraged to apply; we will help you build that expertise.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proactive and target-driven, comfortable with prospecting and outreach.
  • Confident presenter and persuasive communicator, in writing and in person.
  • Able to draft and negotiate business documents with attention to detail.
  • Works independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Manages multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Professional and ethical in handling confidential information.

Additional Information

Occasional regional travel may be required for business development, stakeholder engagement and certification-related activities.
