Job Summary
Design, implement, and maintain messaging infrastructure to enable real-time data exchange. Manage message brokers and optimize systems for performance, reliability, and scalability in collaboration with development teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain messaging infrastructure for real-time data exchange to support business operations
- Manage and support message brokers such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, or Apache Pulsar to ensure stable message delivery
- Define message topics, channels, and data schemas to structure data flow effectively
- Optimize messaging systems for low latency, high reliability, and scalability to meet performance targets
- Implement monitoring and alerting systems for messaging platforms to proactively detect and resolve issues
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize producer and consumer performance for efficient data processing
Required competencies and certifications
- Strong expertise in messaging and streaming platforms demonstrated by managing and optimizing messaging systems
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka or similar technologies to design and operate message brokers
- Experience designing real-time data pipelines using Pub/Sub architecture to enable scalable data streaming
- Strong programming skills in Java, Scala, or Python to develop and maintain messaging components
- Knowledge of Kafka topic design, partitioning and replication, consumer groups, offset management, and broker configuration to configure and tune messaging systems
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience working in Industrial IoT or manufacturing environments to apply domain knowledge in messaging solutions
- Knowledge of MQTT, AMQP, Avro, Protocol Buffers, and Schema Registry to support diverse messaging protocols and data serialization
- Experience using monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana to implement observability for messaging platforms
- Understanding of event-driven architectures, enterprise integrations, MES systems, and analytics platforms to align messaging infrastructure with broader IT ecosystems
