Management Accountant

I'm working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice looking to appoint an experienced Management Accountant to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building client relationships and taking ownership of their work. Rather than sitting behind a ledger processing transactions all day, you'll work closely with a portfolio of clients, acting as a key point of contact and providing support that genuinely helps businesses make informed decisions. The Role Managing bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients Preparing and reviewing VAT returns across multiple VAT schemes Producing monthly and quarterly management accounts Completing control account and bank reconciliations Preparing and submitting CIS returns Posting payroll journals Reviewing work completed by junior team members Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients, resolving queries and providing ongoing support Delivering Xero training and guidance to clients Visiting clients where required and developing long-term working relationships About You You'll ideally bring: Solid bookkeeping experience gained within practice or a multi-client environment Strong knowledge of VAT, reconciliations and bookkeeping controls Experience preparing management accounts, or the desire to develop further in this area AAT qualification or equivalent practical experience Good working knowledge of Xero Strong Excel skills Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail Confidence communicating directly with clients A proactive, solutions-focused approach
