Hazardous Area Electrical Supervisor (compex Ex01–ex04)

Our client is an engineering service company serving the upstream oil & gas sector in West Africa. They are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to lead hazardous area electrical inspection and maintenance work offshore. SigmaStrat is managing recruitment for this role.

What you’ll do

Supervise electrical technicians and coordinate safe execution of offshore work. Lead inspections of Ex equipment, verify findings and maintain accurate inspection records. Identify defects, prioritise corrective actions and oversee repairs in line with site procedures and applicable IEC 60079 requirements. Work with offshore operations to plan access, permits, isolations and completion of work packs.

What you’ll bring

Current CompEx Ex01–Ex04 certification and a recognised electrical qualification. Proven experience supervising hazardous area electrical work on offshore oil and gas facilities, preferably including Ex inspection campaigns. Working knowledge of Ex protection concepts, inspection grades, certification documentation and defect closeout. Valid offshore mobilisation credentials , including BOSIET or FOET with the applicable HUET/EBS component, IMIST, and a valid offshore medical certificate, subject to the asset’s requirements.
