Siemens Healthineers stands for the pioneering spirit of our employees, paired with our long tradition as a leading global technology group in the constantly dynamic healthcare industry. We offer a flexible and dynamic environment full of opportunities to grow beyond yourself in order to develop personally and professionally. Does that sound interesting to you?
Then become part of our global team as Global Lead for Climate Strategy & Governance (f/m/d), to define, manage, and implement the company's climate strategy and climate activities. This role bears end-to-end responsibility for the framework for climate change mitigation and adaptation, including the Net-Zero strategy, target definition, development of roadmaps, active support of implementation as well as target achievement, as well as for climate-related risks, resilience, and governance.
Located within the Corporate Sustainability function, the role ensures consistent and reliable implementation across all business sectors, regions, and functions – in alignment with external standards, regulatory requirements, and internal governance guidelines.
Choose the best place for your work - within the framework of this position, it is possible, in coordination with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working time. Even more flexibility? Mobile working from abroad is possible under certain conditions and in selected countries for up to 30 days per year.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- You are responsible for and continuously develop the global climate strategy and the company's Net-Zero framework, including objectives, roadmaps, milestones, and performance tracking, aligned with recognized external standards.
- You define and manage the climate protection program across Scopes 1–3, translate the strategy into clear implementation requirements, link climate targets with business KPIs, and ensure progress tracking as well as corrective measures if necessary.
- You drive alignment between climate protection, circularity, and sustainable design by collaborating with R&D, Procurement, Quality, and the business teams and further developing climate-related methods, data, and tools (e.g., product carbon footprints).
- You lead the company-wide approach to climate risks, adaptation, and resilience, including risk analyses, scenario analyses, as well as integration into Enterprise Risk Management and strategic planning.
- You establish robust Climate Governance, ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements (e.g., CSRD/ESRS), guarantee audit-proof climate data and disclosures, and proactively monitor regulatory and standard developments.
- You translate the climate strategy into added value for customers and stakeholders, supporting customer requirements, tenders, and external climate-related inquiries.
- You represent the company externally on climate topics in industry initiatives as well as in exchange with investors, customers, and the media.
- You build a high-performing climate team, lead and develop it with great pleasure, and promote close cross-divisional collaboration.
Your qualifications and experience:
- You have a university degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field; additional qualifications in the field of climate, energy, or ESG are an advantage.
- You bring many years of professional experience in leading climate strategy and climate protection measures in a large, established organization and can demonstrate clear accountability for Net-Zero or Science-Based Targets, roadmaps, and their implementation.
- You possess deep technical expertise in climate change mitigation, including greenhouse gas accounting (Scope 1, 2, and 3), SBTi and Net-Zero standards, as well as translating objectives into credible implementation paths.
- You have a very sound understanding of climate-related risks and resilience, including governance and regulatory requirements (e.g., CSRD/ESRS, TCFD-compliant disclosures, country-specific climate regulations), and experience in working with external and internal auditors.
- You have very good knowledge of sustainable design, lifecycle thinking, and the landscape of climate-related data and tools, including the challenges of scaling robust, decision-relevant CO₂ data (e.g., product carbon footprints).
- You can demonstrate proven implementation experience in matrix organizations and work closely with functions such as Procurement, Real Estate, EHS, Finance, Risk Management, and R&D to effectively translate strategies into measures.
- You are an experienced leadership and program management personality who builds and leads high-performing teams, manages complex cross-divisional initiatives, and delivers consistent results. Initial or further experience in disciplinary personnel management is an advantage.
Your profile and skills:
- You have fluent English skills in speaking and writing.
- You are a strategically thinking personality with a hands-on mentality, who moves confidently in an environment of ambiguity, balancing ambition and feasibility, and linking climate strategies with operational and business realities.
- You possess excellent communication and persuasion skills, are able to align different stakeholders, create high-quality documents for senior management, and interact confidently with customers, investors, media, and other external stakeholders.
- You can build and purposefully use a strong internal and external network across functions, regions, and key stakeholders to drive alignment, collaboration, and impact.
