What is your contribution?

In your new role, you will strengthen the commercial security of our international railway electrification projects and develop practical standards, working methods, and tools for the project organization.

• You will develop and establish a scalable framework that enables project teams to effectively assess and enforce contractual risks, opportunities, changes, and claims throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Furthermore, you will design training, promote knowledge transfer through Lessons Learned, and drive digital and AI-supported working methods for the sustainable further development of the organization.
• Additionally, you will take on a central role in securing commercial interests in strategically relevant projects. In doing so, you will create transparency regarding opportunities and risks, secure contractual positions, and enable early management of economic impacts resulting from changes and deviations.
• To achieve this, you will ensure consistent deadline and evidence management, build robust documentation, and thereby create the foundation for sound commercial decisions.
• You will assess economic impacts resulting from extensions of construction time, delays, disruptions, and productivity losses.
• You will work closely with Project Management, CPM, Bid Management, Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Legal, and establish clear interfaces as well as reliable decision-making bases.

What do you bring with you?

• You have a completed degree in Law, Business Law, Business Administration, or Industrial or Civil Engineering.
• Additional qualifications in commercial project management, construction contract law, or international project business are an advantage.
• You bring many years of professional experience in complex international plant business (EPC) or in infrastructure projects and have independently prepared, negotiated, or defended significant economic claims or counterclaims.
• Furthermore, you have experience in building or further developing standards, processes, templates, or training programs for international project organizations and combine conceptual strength with pragmatic implementation in ongoing projects.
• You possess sound knowledge of international contract models and contract standards (e.g., FIDIC, NEC as well as EPC contracts) and are familiar with liability regulations, liquidated damages, Force Majeure, Common Law and Civil Law, as well as formal dispute resolution procedures.
• You master established methods for assessing extensions of construction time, delays, disruptions, and productivity losses (e.g., As-Planned vs. As-Built, Time Impact Analysis, Windows Analysis, or Critical Path Method) as well as recognized approaches to quantifying economic impacts.
• You combine entrepreneurial thinking with commercial judgment, prepare complex matters in a target-group-oriented manner, represent clear positions even under pressure, and successfully drive changes through strong communication skills.
• Last but not least, you have business-fluent English skills; additional language skills as well as international project experience in different legal jurisdictions are an advantage.
