Responsibilities and assignments Participate in the entire development cycle: requirements evaluation, architecture, coding, verification, maintenance. Write the software source code, following the adopted process, with the aim of correcting defects, implementing modules, or complete software solutions. Investigate technical solutions through document research, prototype construction, and technical discussions to validate, guide a software project, or resolve a defect. Analyze requirements through discussions with clients. Produce documents to detail the product scope. Analyze software defects (or bugs) reported by internal (quality) or external (clients) testing teams through problem characterization, log analysis, and source code analysis when available, and identification of the root cause to apply patches or corrections to the software when applicable. Implement change requests from external and internal clients through the analysis of change descriptions, technical feasibility of implementation, source code, and availability of related functionalities, minimizing and balancing the impact of changes and the risk of introducing defects. Integrate and validate implementations of software change requests from external and internal clients through source code control tools and unit tests with the aim of validating the software package before its official publication. Work in a collaborative and dynamic environment using agile development methodologies and best practices related to software architecture and coding. Share information with the team through available communication tools to promote the technical growth of the team. Generate ideas, propose new projects, submit patent requests related to SIDI's areas of operation, with the aim of helping the company achieve and maintain its technological lead. Technically review and guide the work of SiDi's software development partners to improve the collaborative environment and the quality of the solutions presented. Perform technical investigations to verify the feasibility of developing innovative functionalities. Partially or completely design the modules under your responsibility through technical discussions, documentation production, and reviews, with the aim of structuring development and achieving the technical integrity of the project. Identify technical risks, resource needs, and training needs through project analysis to remove development bottlenecks. Estimate the time for performing technical tasks through complexity analysis, with the aim of assisting the project manager in defining priorities and the schedule. Learn and share knowledge and ideas with other team members. Develop and improve technical knowledge related to project needs. Contribute to SIDI being a technical reference in its core areas of knowledge. Participate in national and/or international business trips representing the SIDI team for knowledge transfer and execution of project activities together with external teams. Propose new ideas and participate in innovation activities that may generate new patents. Continuously observe potential patents related to the project scope and activities, reporting to the area's innovation manager or the company's innovation team. Propose process improvements. Participate in the configuration process and quality activities.
Requirements and qualifications Experience in Java and Kotlin. Knowledge of Android SDK (mainly with Activities, BroadcastReceivers, ContentProviders). Knowledge of Android Jetpack Components. Knowledge of creating Services in Android. Knowledge of design patterns and architectures such as MVC or MVVM. Experience in databases (SQL and NoSQL). Knowledge of unit tests. Basic notions of application security and privacy.
Academic Background Completed degree in the areas of Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
Languages: Advanced English for reading, writing, and conversation.
Desirable: Knowledge in indexing and search with Apache Lucene. Knowledge in performance analysis and application optimization. Knowledge of search and indexing solutions. Practical knowledge of Apache Lucene. Knowledge of search quality metrics (precision, recall, MRR/NDCG, etc.). Knowledge of solutions that involve communication with other applications.
