Welder Fabricator

Due to continued growth, we’re looking for an experienced Welder Fabricator to join a growing company at an exciting stage of its development.

This is a newly established workshop in Darlington, offering the opportunity for an experienced fabricator to play an important role in building and developing the company’s fabrication capabilities.

You’ll work across a varied range of projects, taking responsibility for producing high-quality fabricated components and assemblies. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident working from engineering drawings, can manage their own workload and takes genuine pride in delivering quality workmanship.

The Role

As an experienced Welder Fabricator, you’ll be responsible for:

• Fabricating and welding a wide range of components and assemblies.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings accurately.
• Working with mild steel, stainless steel and other materials.
• Carrying out high-quality MIG and TIG welding.
• Manufacturing and assembling products accurately and efficiently.
• Using fabrication machinery and workshop equipment.
• Checking your own work to ensure a high standard of quality and accuracy.
• Managing your workload and working effectively with minimal supervision.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop environment.
• Supporting the ongoing development of the new fabrication operation.

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience in general fabrication and welding.
• Strong MIG and TIG welding skills.
• The ability to read and work confidently from engineering drawings.
• Experience working independently and managing your own workload.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
• A reliable, hardworking and self-motivated approach.
• The ability to adapt to different projects and fabrication requirements.

Desirable experience

• Sheet metal fabrication experience.
• Experience using a range of fabrication machinery and workshop equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience working within a varied or project-based fabrication environment.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday 40 hours a week flexible with start and finish times.
