Location: Derby (Hybrid - 1 day a week WFH) Job Type: Full-time | Permanent Salary: £41,000 + car allowance Reports to: Operations Manager

Our office based from Derby, East Midlands specialises in rail/rolling stock recruitment, we have a vast portfolio of clients in which we're extremely proud of, including industry leaders such as Alstom, Hitachi and Siemens to name only just a few.

The Role

As Recruitment Team Leader, you'll be responsible for managing and developing a successful recruitment team, delivering exceptional service to clients and candidates, and achieving ambitious commercial targets. You'll lead from the front-driving business development, coaching your team, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring operational excellence across all areas of the recruitment lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing recruitment team.
  • Drive new business development and identify opportunities for profitable growth within existing clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and candidates.
  • Set clear objectives, KPIs and performance expectations for the team.
  • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, appraisals and performance reviews.
  • Recruit, train and onboard new team members.
  • Support the team in winning, managing and growing key client accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, GDPR and company policies.
  • Monitor financial performance, budgets and gross profit.
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments including HR, Payroll, Finance and Credit Control.

About You

You'll be a confident leader with a proven track record in business development, who enjoys motivating others and delivering outstanding results - while recruitment experience would be beneficial, it's certainly not essential.

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience managing a successful sales team.
  • Strong business development and client management experience.
  • Track record of delivering revenue and profit targets.
  • Experience coaching and developing staff.

Skills

  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
  • Commercially minded with excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
