About the company

ShipCalm is a national ecommerce fulfillment company (3PL). We're headquartered in San Francisco with fulfillment operations in Southern California and Plainfield, Indiana. Founded in 2017, venture-backed, and growing.

Here's the thing that makes our marketing interesting: about 80% of our customers came to us because they were miserable with their previous 3PL. Missed Target orders. Inventory that vanished. Surprise invoices. We are the 3PL brands switch TO.

That's the story you'd be telling. It's a real pain, told to a real buyer, and it's a lot more fun to write than generic B2B fluff.

Our customers are $1-5M DTC ecommerce brands in apparel, footwear, beauty, pet, and nutraceuticals. Omnichannel. Growing fast enough that their current 3PL can't keep up.

ShipCalm is a leading third-party operations company committed to delivering seamless and innovative logistics solutions to businesses worldwide. Learn more about us at our website: http://www.shipcalm.com.

Notes on Working With Us We move fast and we're direct. You'll get clear priorities and honest feedback. We'd rather you ask a question early than guess and burn a week.

Your tasks

Summary As a Content Marketing Specialist at ShipCalm, you will play a pivotal role in developing, executing, and managing engaging social media content and digital campaigns. This position reports to our Chief Marketing Officer.

Role Accountability & Functions You'll own the day-to-day content engine. That means writing outbound copy that gets replies, keeping a content calendar on schedule, and running our social presence so it looks like a company that's actually alive.

This is a hands-on writing and execution role, not a strategy role. Strategy comes from the CMO. You make it real, on time, every week .

Outbound copy (the biggest piece)

  • Write cold email sequences and LinkedIn outreach that get opened and answered
  • Write re-engagement copy for prospects who went quiet
  • Test subject lines and openers, then report what worked
  • Adapt copy by vertical (apparel reads different than nutraceuticals)

HubSpot

  • Build and schedule email sequences and campaigns
  • Manage lists, segments, and workflows
  • Pull basic reporting on opens, clicks, replies, and conversions
  • Keep contact data clean

Content calendar

  • Own a rolling 4-6 week calendar across email, social, and blog
  • Hit deadlines without being chased. This matters more than anything else on this list.
  • Flag conflicts and gaps early instead of letting things slip

Social administration

  • Manage LinkedIn (primary), plus Instagram, Facebook, and X
  • Schedule posts, write captions, resize and format creative
  • Monitor comments and DMs, route real leads to sales
  • Basic community management and engagement

Supporting work

  • Repurpose long-form content into social, email, and short-form
  • Light blog and landing page copy
  • Keep a simple performance log the CMO can read at a glance

Requirements

Required

  • 3+ years writing B2B marketing copy in English at a native or near-native level. Your writing needs to sound American, not translated.
  • Proven outbound email experience. You'll be asked for examples with results.
  • Hands-on HubSpot experience (Marketing Hub). Not "I've seen it." You can build a sequence and a workflow without hand-holding.
  • Experience owning a content calendar and hitting dates
  • Working knowledge of LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and X business tools plus a scheduler (Buffer, Later, Hootsuite, or similar)
  • Reliable internet, quiet workspace, and at least 3 hours of daily overlap with US Pacific time
  • Comfortable with async communication in Slack and clear written updates

Nice to have

  • B2B logistics, supply chain, ecommerce, or SaaS background
  • Basic Canva or Figma for social creative
  • SEO fundamentals
  • Familiarity with Apollo, Instantly, Smartlead, or similar outbound tools

Not a fit if

  • You need a lot of direction to get started
  • You write in ChatGPT default voice and ship it without editing
  • You've only done B2C or influencer-style social

What we offer

Long-term relationship preferred. If this works, hours and scope grow.

How to apply

Send the following to HR@shipcalm.com. Applications missing any piece won't be reviewed.

  1. Your resume or profile link.
  2. Three writing samples. At least one has to be a cold email or outbound sequence. Tell us what results it got if you know.
  3. A short answer (150 words max): Describe a time you owned a content calendar. What was the cadence, what channels, and how did you keep it on schedule?
  4. A quick writing test. Write a 4-line cold email to the founder of a $3M DTC apparel brand who is frustrated with their current fulfillment provider. The goal is to book a 20-minute call. Don't research us, just write it. We're looking for the hook, not the details.
  5. Your HubSpot experience. One or two sentences on what you've actually built in HubSpot.
  6. Your hourly rate and weekly availability, including your time zone.

Put "3PL Content" in the subject line so we know you read this.
