Manufacturing Operations Manager

Sherpa Selection is working in partnership with Modular Systems Ltd to recruit a Manufacturing Operations Manager. Modular Systems manufactures GRP and steel bathroom pods across two factories. They've secured long-term contracts supplying a major UK infrastructure project and student accommodation developments. Production is set to rise from 25 pods a week to 175, and the team is growing to match. The role You'll take ownership of manufacturing operations across both factories. Your priority will be putting the right structure in place: a team for each department, each led by a supervisor reporting to you. Around three-quarters of your time will be spent on day-to-day operations. The rest is customer-facing, including reporting on production and keeping customers informed. You'll have the autonomy to bring a fresh approach to production, health and safety, and continuous improvement. The foundations are already there. The business has updated SOPs, quality systems, live KPIs and barcode tracking of every pod through the build, and AI is already used across the business.
