Assistant Teacher

The Assistant Teacher is attuned and responsive to the needs of young children. She successfully creates a secure environment for young children through enhancing respectful and responsive relationships with them. She creates a quality learning environment and successfully facilitate children’s development in a group setting by embracing the philosophy and values of Shaws to support children’s learning through play and inquiry based learning.

The Assistant Teacher is proactive and intentional in building trusting and respectful partnerships with parents and families. She actively supports the school’s initiatives and supports its collaborative efforts with the community. She also works closely with colleagues and contributes to a culture of collaboration and collegiality. As an early childhood educator, the Assistant Teacher engages in continuous learning and reflective practice.
