denture technician

Shaw Lab Group has always believed in developing strong relationships with dentists through experienced technicians. We are seeking an *Experienced Denture Technician* to join our North York location. The ideal candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication skills. *We encourage trained Denturists and Dental Technicians with a minimum of 2-3 years experience to apply. *The ability to do a variety of repairs, relines, and tooth set-ups is required.

*Duties and responsibilities*

• Thoroughly read and understand the doctor?s prescription
• Evaluate and correct models of any discrepancies
• Block and fabricate custom trays and bite blocks
• Cold cure acrylic processing partials
• Trimming and polishing partial and complete dentures
• Relines and repairs
• Setting or resetting teeth in proper arrangements
• Bending wires and wax down any components for the prosthesis
• Wax up dentures for try-in/finish
• Welding dentures metal components
• Bending clasps
• Prepare any implant models as needed
• Ensure all product is completed and meets Shaw standards and adjust/remake as required
• Clean any debris off the final models and product

*Qualifications*

• *Dental Technology or Denturism diploma preferred *
• *Ideally 2 years or more of experience*
• Effective communication skills and the ability to read, write and speak English
• Knowledge of dental morphology
• Experience with implants considered an asset
• Designing cast frames considered an asset
• Ivocap heat cure investing and processing considered an asset
• Laser welding considered an asset
