Secondary Assistant Head

This role is suited to UK trained teachers with recent experience in British curriculum schools.

Applicants must have a strong understanding of Assistant Head / Director of 6th Form and a proven track record within a British educational context.

The role: Secondary Assistant Head: Director of Sixth Form

For January 2027 we are seeking a passionate Secondary Assistant Head: Director of Sixth Form to join our team. A well-qualified, visionary, and inspirational Assistant Head: Director of Sixth Form who embodies the academic excellence, inclusive ethos, and future-focused ambition of Sharjah English School. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for Post-16 provision.

Personal specifications:

Qualified teacher with a minimum of two years teaching experience

Proficient ICT user

Awareness of innovative thinking and practice in education

An in-depth and up to date knowledge of the English National Curriculum

A strong personal presence and high level interpersonal skills

Excellent understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and practices

The successful candidate must have the following:

A B.Ed or BA degree

Proven track record in fostering a caring and supportive atmosphere

Be a passionate educator dedicated to the well-being, social and academic progress of each student

Experience which will make a significant contribution to the wider life of the school
