GBS EHS DATA VALIDATOR JUNIOR

As a member of our Global Business Solutions (GBS) center team, you will carry out data processing in the analysis of EHS matrix samples in the chemical laboratory. In particular, you will validate, calculate, and report laboratory results under strict ethical and quality standards.
Specific Responsibilities At all times, comply with the SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct. Significant expansion of data calculation processes for gas chromatography, working closely with daytime GC analysts for daytime data processing. GC software (Agilent MSD Chemstation, Agilent Masshunter, Agilent Openlab) will be used for data processing. Perform various data processing functions, including laboratory data calculations and integrations, quality controls, LIMS entries, and other data management functions as necessary. Ensure that laboratory deadlines are met and that the GBS team coordinator (or the section laboratory manager in their absence) is immediately notified if the specified turnaround time cannot be met. Ensure that all testing methodology and quality control procedures are performed in accordance with SGS ISO17025 laboratory standards and assigned standards where applicable. Keep the Affiliate Manager, GBS Supervisor, and any other key Affiliate personnel immediately informed of all operational issues, including: Personnel issues affecting performance, Non-compliance with response requirements, Non-compliance with ISO17025 and country certifications and assigned SGS laboratory standards, where applicable. Inconsistencies in quality control procedures so they can be rectified immediately, Identification of additional training needs.
Adopt and support specific operational improvement activities as communicated by the GBS team leader. These projects will focus on improving quality, efficiency, accreditation, communication, and technical improvement. Maintain practical knowledge of all analytical procedures required in the section. Seek efficiency gains in your section by staying aware of new technologies and reviewing existing procedures. Capable of responding to technical inquiries. Perform other related tasks assigned to you, whether in support of department objectives or for your training, education, or personal or professional development, as scheduled by your immediate supervisor. Ensure that the GBS work area is kept clean and presentable at all times. Remain familiar with SGS quality control procedures. Comply with all SGS QHSE and HR policies and procedures.
Academic Training: Minimum degree of Science Technician (preferably in Chemistry areas) or other courses related to a science degree. Intermediate-advanced English (B2+ level).
Experience: A minimum of one year of laboratory experience. Demonstrated experience with data quality and operational excellence. Previous experience with LIMS and Chemstation or Mass Hunter software will be valued.
Schedule: Monday to Friday Modality: On-site Salary: 2,400,000 COP + variables. Contract with a temporary agency for the first 6 months, subsequently and according to performance, moving directly to an indefinite term with SGS. English level: B2+
