In general terms, Laboratory Leadership positions are responsible for: Technical management of the laboratory Technically responsible for analyses in the chemical area. Approve, before use, internal procedures, analysis methods, and testing. Coordinate new projects and developments, acting from the initial design of the project to the final critical evaluation of results — and not just in the delegation of activities. Conduct and monitor the development and validation schedule of new methodologies, meeting the demands of clients and the global team. Coordinate the planning and sending of interlaboratory testing results. Ensure the maintenance of the laboratory quality system. People management Lead and develop the team of analysts. Distribute activities according to established priorities. Provide training in their areas of competence. Monitor and evaluate team performance. Manage vacations, medical certificates, benefits, and time tracking (through the supervision team) and participate in the selection of new employees. Results, indicators, and clients Ensure compliance with the deadline for delivering results. Perform management of the area's indicators. Provide technical support to clients, including global clients and international teams — interactions conducted in English. Stakeholder management. Health, safety, and environment Identify risks to the integrity of the team and to pollution generation, helping to identify or develop containment measures, implementing them, and providing their continuous maintenance.
Desirable requirements: Education: Completed higher education, preferably in Chemistry, Engineering (Food, Chemical, Industrial, and related areas). Professional registration: Registration in the relevant professional council. Market experience: Experience in various industries and/or in a service/analysis laboratory. Management experience: Direct management of teams of analysts. Technical knowledge: Liquid chromatography (HPLC/LC) and gas chromatography (GC). Mass spectrometry. Validation of analytical methodologies. Laboratory quality system and interlaboratory testing.
Languages: English — essential requirement, due to contact with global clients and international teams. IT: Advanced Office Package (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in daily use).
