Laboratory Analyst - Pesticides

Perform tests for the analysis of pesticides according to established procedures and methods, applying good laboratory practices and guaranteeing the impartiality and confidentiality of the generated information. Execute analyses using liquid chromatography (LC) and gas chromatography (GC) techniques. Operate instrumental equipment associated with chromatographic techniques, such as LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, GC-FID, or other related equipment. Verify the calibration and operational status of the equipment used in the analyses. Prepare reagents, solutions, and standards required for the execution of the tests. Execute the necessary controls during the analyses and participate in ensuring the validity of the results. Report, evaluate, and/or validate the results obtained according to established procedures. Identify non-conforming results or activities and support the implementation of the corresponding actions. Participate in the updating, implementation, and validation of analytical methodologies, including method execution, data recording, and processing. Perform basic user-level maintenance activities on the equipment, according to established procedures. Maintain order, cleanliness, and compliance with good practices within the laboratory. Schedule and execute activities according to the priorities established by the laboratory manager. Comply with SGS policies on Quality, Safety, Occupational Health, Environment, Integrity, and Professional Conduct.

Technical or university education in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related careers. Experience in laboratory analysis using liquid chromatography and/or gas chromatography techniques. Specific experience in pesticide analysis will be valued. Profiles with experience in physicochemical testing or food analysis who have knowledge of or exposure to chromatographic techniques will also be considered. Knowledge or experience in handling equipment such as LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, GC-FID, mass spectrometry, or other related equipment will be valued. Desirable experience in basic user-level maintenance of chromatographic equipment. Desirable experience in implementation, validation, and/or verification of analytical methods. Desirable knowledge of pesticide MRLs. Basic English for reading and interpreting methods and technical documentation. MS Office proficiency at a user level. Availability to work in rotating morning and afternoon shifts.
