Rent arrears officer

SF Partners are recruiting an experienced rent arears officer for a housing organisation in Coventry. Supporting the team with additional workload following an acquisition, you'll handle rent arrears and income-related queries, working with customers to resolve outstanding balances and agree affordable repayment arrangements.

What You'll Be Doing

• Proactively contacting customers about rent arrears.
• Agreeing repayment arrangements based on individual circumstances.
• Resolving income-related queries and investigating disputed balances.
• Identifying customers who need additional support and making appropriate referrals.
• Maintaining accurate records and escalating cases where needed.

What You'll Bring

Previous rent arrears experience is essential. A good working understanding of arrears collection and managing cases at the pre-legal stage. Confidence handling sensitive conversations and negotiating repayments. The ability to manage your workload and get up to speed quickly. Training will be provided on systems and internal processes, so experience of a particular housing system isn't required.

What You'll Get in Return

• Hybrid working, with 2-3 days in the Coventry office each week.
• Full-time hours, normally 9am-5pm, with some flexibility on start and finish times.
• On-site parking.
