Your tasks

The Controller is responsible for ensuring operational excellence and plays a key role in financial operations and in managing Finance and Controlling activities at the Dunkermotoren level, to achieve the objectives of the Business Unit and the Division.

• Planning and Budgeting:
• Support budgeting, planning, and monitoring cost reductions
• Analyse variances and suggests corrective actions to production and overhead departments
• Prepare plant rates and establish standard costs for accuracy in cost estimation, inventory evaluation, and production performance
• Financial Reporting:
• Work with the Finance team on monthly and year-end closings (US GAAP), investigate discrepancies, and provide timely reports
• Prepare internal and external financial packages for management
• Capex Management:
• Support the preparation and the review capital appropriation requests for new equipment and tooling
• Monitor spending to ensure alignment with appropriations and trigger supplemental requests when necessary
• Control & Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX, including self-testing and documentation posting
• Drive continuous improvement in reporting, control, and compliance
• Support audit management

Der Controller ist verantwortlich für die Sicherstellung operativer Exzellenz und übernimmt eine Schlüsselrolle im Finanzbereich sowie bei der Steuerung der Finance- und Controlling-Aktivitäten auf Ebene von Dunkermotoren. Ziel ist es, die finanziellen und operativen Ziele der Business Unit und der Division erfolgreich zu unterstützen und zu erreichen.

Planung und Budgetierung

• Unterstützung bei der Budgetierung und Planung sowie bei der Überwachung von Kostensenkungsmaßnahmen
• Analyse von Abweichungen und Ableitung bzw. Empfehlung geeigneter Korrekturmaßnahmen für Produktions- und Overhead-Bereiche
• Ermittlung von Werkssätzen und Festlegung von Standardkosten zur Sicherstellung einer präzisen Kostenkalkulation, Bestandsbewertung und Bewertung der Produktionsperformance

Finanzberichterstattung

• Zusammenarbeit mit dem Finance-Team bei Monats- und Jahresabschlüssen nach US-GAAP, Analyse und Klärung von Abweichungen sowie termingerechte Erstellung von Reports
• Erstellung interner und externer Finanzberichte und Reporting-Packages für das Management

Investitionsmanagement (Capex)

• Unterstützung bei der Erstellung und Prüfung von Investitionsanträgen für neue Anlagen, Maschinen und Werkzeuge
• Überwachung der Investitionsausgaben, um die Einhaltung der genehmigten Budgets sicherzustellen, sowie Initiierung zusätzlicher Investitionsanträge bei Bedarf

Kontrollen & Compliance

• Sicherstellung der Einhaltung von US-GAAP und SOX, einschließlich der Durchführung von Self-Assessments bzw. Tests und der entsprechenden Dokumentation
• Kontinuierliche Verbesserung der Prozesse in den Bereichen Reporting, interne Kontrollen und Compliance
• Unterstützung bei der Planung und Durchführung von Audits

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 6-8 years of experience in a financial/controlling position within a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of financial, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including US GAAP and SOX 404 requirements
• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
• Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
• Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, balance sheets, and projections
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs

Key Competencies

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of SAP ERP – advanced skills in FI-CO modules
• Fluent in English and German

• Abgeschlossenes Studium im Bereich Rechnungswesen, Finanzen oder einer vergleichbaren Fachrichtung
• 6–8 Jahre Berufserfahrung im Finanz- bzw. Controlling-Bereich eines produzierenden Unternehmens
• Fundierte Kenntnisse in den Bereichen Finanzwesen, Rechnungswesen, Budgetierung und Kostencontrolling, einschließlich US-GAAP und SOX-404-Anforderungen
• Erfahrung mit automatisierten Finanz- und Rechnungswesen-Reporting-Systemen
• Kenntnisse relevanter gesetzlicher Finanzvorschriften auf Bundes- und Landesebene
• Fähigkeit zur Analyse von Finanzdaten sowie zur Erstellung von Finanzberichten, Bilanzen und Forecasts
• Nachgewiesene Fähigkeit und Bereitschaft, KI-Tools gezielt einzusetzen, um Produktivität, Entscheidungsfindung und Arbeitsqualität zu verbessern sowie Kosten zu reduzieren . Der erfolgreiche Kandidat sollte geeignete KI-Anwendungsfälle identifizieren und KI-generierte Ergebnisse kritisch bewerten können.
