Safety and Hygiene - complete

Job Objective

Prevent accidents and occupational diseases through the identification of risks, implementation of preventive measures, and supervision of safety and hygiene conditions in branches, warehouses, and distribution centers.

Education and Experience

Industrial, Environmental, Safety and Hygiene Engineering, or a related degree. Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in industrial safety, preferably in warehouses, logistics, steel, or construction materials. Experience in personnel training, accident investigation, and safety inspections.

Required Knowledge

• Occupational safety and health regulations applicable to the operation.
• Hazard identification and risk assessment.
• Selection, use, and control of personal protective equipment.
• Safety in forklifts, loading and unloading maneuvers, storage, and material handling.
• Fire prevention, first aid, and emergency response.
• Integration of safety and hygiene commissions and emergency brigades.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and follow up on the safety and hygiene program.
• Perform inspection tours and document unsafe conditions and acts.
• Coordinate corrective actions with the heads of each area.
• Supervise the proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Train personnel and provide safety induction to new hires.
• Investigate accidents and incidents and follow up on preventive measures.
• Coordinate drills and keep emergency procedures updated.
• Review signaling conditions, evacuation routes, and emergency equipment.
• Integrate and keep safety records and evidence updated.
• Present indicators and reports to management.
• Immediately report serious risks and manage the suspension of activities according to internal procedures.
