R&D Automation Engineer M/F

Under the responsibility of the R&D manager, your main mission will be to develop the standard FCS X program, as well as potential evolutions of the current FCS+ solution.

You will be at the heart of innovation to propose and invent solutions and improvements within the framework of the development of our future machines or future upgrades.

You will respond to requests from the customer service, production, or workshops as Level 2 support regarding already industrialized programs; in this context, industrialization documentation such as functional analysis and technical topographies, as well as training, must be provided to ensure a transfer of skills on these new functionalities. As an expert, occasional travel to client sites or remote work may be requested in order to validate / troubleshoot a machine.

Constantly monitoring new technologies and supplier innovations, you are a proactive proposer regarding development and improvement axes. You challenge existing tools and methods, contribute to hardware orientation, propose key patents, and organize benchmarks to identify the best technical solutions.

As a technical referent and project sponsor, you actively participate in the design and development of products. You work in close connection with project teams on functional and risk analyses, taking into account the defined guidelines and prioritizations. You develop software in accordance with functional needs, guide the mechanics to obtain coherent, integrated mechatronic systems, and contribute to works related to Industry 4.0 (traceability, diagnostics, prediction, machine intelligence).

You intervene in the design of intelligent algorithms, up to artificial intelligence, while ensuring quality compliant with project requirements. You define test scenarios, perform trials under real conditions (prototype, local station, PLC, client), interpret results, and correct any anomalies. You organize design reviews and share technical best practices.

During the industrialization phase, you write technical and functional documentation, train your colleagues on new functions/technologies, and support the increase in skills. In connection with the workshops and field teams, you set up the machines, adjust them, validate production, and intervene in support for remote troubleshooting or at the client site if necessary.

You are a graduate of an engineering school or have at least 10 years of equivalent experience in the mechatronics / automation field. You have a valid electrical authorization.

You master B&R PLCs, notably the PLC and Motion Control aspects. You possess solid knowledge in machine architecture and mechatronic integration.

You also have a good mastery of machine safety analysis tools, such as SISTEMA.

You are comfortable with code version management tools such as Git. You also know how to use functional schematic software such as Visio or Draw.IO.

You speak English fluently, both written and spoken, allowing you to communicate effectively with international clients and interlocutors.
