Safety Inspector
JOB PURPOSE The Safety Inspector will carry out routine safety inspections across the Ghuwaifat Project site, verifying compliance with project HSE requirements and supporting the HSE team in maintaining a safe working environment. The role focuses on inspection, reporting, and verification of corrective actions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out routine safety inspections across all work areas on site.
- Report non-conformances, hazards, and near-misses identified during inspections.
- Verify that corrective actions from previous inspections and audits have been implemented.
- Support HSE audits by preparing inspection records and documentation.
- Inspect scaffolding, lifting equipment, and other high-risk equipment for compliance prior to use.
- Maintain accurate inspection checklists, registers, and reports.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and subcontractors on inspection findings and required corrective actions.
- Support the HSE Senior and Safety Officers in incident investigations as required.
- Assist in reviewing method statements and risk assessments for high-risk activities.
- Support emergency preparedness activities, including equipment and access route inspections.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
- 3–5 years of experience in a safety inspection role on construction or infrastructure projects.
- Working knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and inspection procedures.
- Experience inspecting scaffolding, lifting equipment, or similar high-risk equipment is preferred.
- UAE project experience is preferred.
