You will assess how injury, illness, disability, or developmental delay affects daily functioning, then design and deliver practical interventions that build skills, adapt tasks, and reshape environments so clients can participate as independently as possible. Your work sits at the centre of each client's recovery or development plan, and it directly shapes the outcomes their families, caregivers, and referring teams are working toward. Key Responsibilities

Carry out comprehensive occupational therapy assessments covering functional ability, range of motion, strength, sensation, coordination, cognition, and sensory processing. Develop individualised treatment plans with measurable goals and review them regularly as each client's needs and progress change. Deliver one-on-one and group therapy sessions focused on activities of daily living, fine motor skills, sensory integration, hand rehabilitation, and cognitive retraining. Recommend, fabricate, fit, and train clients in the safe use of assistive devices, orthoses, splints, and adaptive equipment. Assess home, school, and workplace settings and advise on modifications, positioning, seating, and accessibility that support independence. Educate and coach family members, caregivers, teachers, and employers so that therapeutic strategies carry over beyond formal sessions. Maintain accurate, timely client records, progress notes, and reports, and contribute to multidisciplinary case reviews and referral decisions. Supervise and mentor therapy assistants, students, and volunteers, and uphold infection control, safety, and client confidentiality standards in all activities.

Requirements & Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised institution. Registered with the Kenya Occupational Therapy Association (KOTA) and the Occupational Therapy Council of Kenya (OTCK), with registration kept current at all times. Sound clinical reasoning and the ability to translate assessment findings into workable, goal-directed intervention plans. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with clients, families, caregivers, and other health professionals, including across language and cultural differences. Demonstrated high integrity and ethical practice, including respect for client dignity, informed consent, and confidentiality. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, while knowing when to escalate or consult senior colleagues. Reliable record-keeping and reporting habits, with basic competence in written documentation and standard office or clinical software. Willingness to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and to adapt caseload priorities as service demands shift.
