Merger Arbitrage Analyst

About the company

We are working with a leading global hedge fund who are looking to hire a merger arbitrage focused investment analyst to join its team in Dubai.

Your tasks

The successful candidate will work directly alongside a portfolio manager, supporting investment research, idea generation and ongoing portfolio analysis across merger arbitrage and event-driven opportunities.

Requirements

• 4-8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience within a hedge fund or tier-one investment banks.
• Strong experience analysing M&A transactions, with exposure to hard events including merger/risk arbitrage, event-driven investing, special situations or M&A advisory particularly relevant.
• Strong financial modelling, valuation and fundamental research capabilities.
• Ability to analyse the legal, regulatory, financial and fundamental considerations affecting transaction outcomes.
• Strong commercial judgement and an ability to develop an independent view on risk/reward.
• Sharp, intellectually curious and comfortable working directly with a portfolio manager in a fast-paced investment environment.
