Senior Fullstack Developer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full-Stack Developer to lead the technical development and delivery of our mobile web application/progressive web app (PWA) project. The successful candidate will provide expert technical consultation, drive development excellence, and ensure the delivery of scalable, high-performance, and secure web applications whilst working closely with stakeholders and development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of end-to-end application development, integrating frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure
• Design, develop, and maintain advanced responsive, accessible, and performant web applications
• Implement frontend architectures using React Native, ensuring enterprise-level reusability, scalability, and security
• Develop and architect high-performance backend services and APIs, ensuring reliability, security, and observability
• Lead WhatsApp Business API integration implementation and provide technical consultation on messaging platform integrated with backend business workflow
• Continuously evaluate and adopt emerging technologies to improve application performance and developer productivity
• Lead technical discussions with stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Proactively identify and resolve complex bugs and performance issues
• Drive continuous improvement in software quality and development processes
• Lead the design and optimisation of full-stack CI/CD deployment strategies, ensuring seamless and automated releases
• Establish automated infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and cloud deployment strategies
• Ensure comprehensive full-stack security implementation, including authentication, authorization, API security, and frontend security best practices
• Lead IM8 security controls implementation and provide consultation on government security frameworks
• Establish security review processes and ensure adherence to government compliance requirements
• Drive security-first development practices and provide security consultation to development teams

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines
• Minimum 7 years of experience in full-stack web development with proven track record of delivering complex projects
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in senior technical or consulting roles
• Experience in client-facing consulting and stakeholder management
• Strong proficiency in both frontend and backend development with architectural knowledge
• Experience with Git and advanced branching workflows (GitFlow, trunk-based development)

Frontend Technologies

• Expert-level experience with React.js and modern frontend frameworks (Next.js, Vue.js, Angular, or Svelte)
• Extensive mobile app development expertise using ReactNative (critical requirement)
• Advanced knowledge of UI component libraries such as Material-UI, Tailwind CSS, or Bootstrap
• Experience with wireframing and prototyping tools (Figma)and design system implementation
• Deep understanding of progressive web app development and modern frontend architectures

Backend Technologies

• Advanced proficiency in Node.js, Express.js, or NestJS
• Strong experience with additional backend technologies such as Ruby on Rails, Java/Kotlin (Spring Boot), Python (Django, Flask, FastAPI), or Golang
• Expert-level experience in API design principles, including RESTful APIs, GraphQL, gRPC, and WebSockets for service communication
• Advanced knowledge of API rate limiting, caching strategies (Redis, Varnish), and performance optimisations
• Strong understanding of backend service scalability strategies (horizontal scaling, autoscaling, load balancing)

Observability & Monitoring

• Advanced experience implementing application performance monitoring (APM) tools (Datadog, New Relic, Sentry, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry)
• Expert knowledge of logging frameworks (ELK Stack, Loki, Fluentd) to track and debug issues across distributed systems

DevOps, Cloud, and Infrastructure

• Advanced experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Jenkins)
• Expert-level hands-on experience with cloud platforms(AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Cloudflare Workers)
• Extensive experience with Government Commercial Cloud(GCC) environment
• Advanced experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools(Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi)

Security Best Practices

• Expert knowledge of frontend security (CSP, CORS, XSS prevention)
• Advanced experience with backend security (OAuth, JWT, API rate limiting, encryption)
• Deep understanding of IM8 security policies and government compliance frameworks
• Strong familiarity with cloud security (IAM, SecretsManagement, OWASP Top 10)
• Experience implementing comprehensive security strategies across full-stack applications

Software Quality & Testing

• Advanced experience with unit and integration testing(Jest, Cypress, Playwright, Pact)
• Expert-level backend testing using Postman, Supertest, contract testing
• Experience establishing testing strategies and mentoring teams on quality assurance practices

Professional Skills

• Proven project management and delivery experience in agile environments
• Experience in technical consulting and client relationship management
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
