Industry: Semiconductor Equipment / Field Service Our client, a global semiconductor equipment provider, is looking for a Field Service Engineer to support metrology and wafer inspection tools installed at customer fabs. This role involves hands-on installation, qualification, troubleshooting, and maintenance of precision inspection equipment in a live production environment. What You'll Do Perform on-site installation, qualification, and acceptance testing of metrology/inspection tools at customer fabs Diagnose and resolve equipment faults to minimize tool downtime and maintain production throughput Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance in line with OEM specifications Support tool calibration and performance verification to meet customer process requirements Liaise directly with customer engineering teams to understand issues, prioritize fixes, and communicate status Escalate complex technical issues to OEM back-end support/engineering teams as needed Maintain accurate service records, technical documentation, and reports Provide end-user training on equipment operation and troubleshooting Core Key Skills Diploma/Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent) Hands-on field service experience with semiconductor metrology or wafer inspection equipment Experience installing, qualifying, or troubleshooting precision optical/laser-based inspection systems Strong troubleshooting methodology (root cause analysis, structured problem-solving) Comfortable working in cleanroom environments and following strict safety/quality protocols Willingness to travel between customer sites and support on-call/standby coverage Good communication skills for direct customer interaction Nice to Have Experience with a recognized metrology/inspection OEM platform Prior experience working inside a wafer fab (as OEM vendor or fab employee) Familiarity with SPC/FDC data monitoring tools
