Psychiatry Specialist Consultant

Your tasks

We are seeking an experienced psychiatrist – specialist / consultant to join a leading healthcare facility in the UAE. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with a wide range of mental health and psychiatric conditions.

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and clinical evaluations.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of psychiatric and mental health conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' clinical needs.
• Provide appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment.
• Monitor treatment response and adjust management plans when required.
• Manage patients with conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, and other psychiatric conditions.
• Assess and manage patients presenting with acute psychiatric symptoms when required.
• Provide counseling, psychoeducation, and guidance to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and clinical documentation.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement, teaching, and professional development activities.
• Promote patient safety, confidentiality, and high standards of ethical clinical practice.

Requirements

Candidates with UK CCT, Western qualified, American board, Australian board, and South African board qualifications are preferred.

• MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in psychiatry.
• Relevant post-specialization clinical experience as a specialist / consultant psychiatrist.
• Strong experience in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Experience managing a broad range of adult psychiatric conditions.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient-management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and counseling skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary mental healthcare team.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and high standards of professional practice.
