Acute Medicine Specialist Consultant

Your tasks

Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with acute medical conditions. Provide timely clinical evaluation and initiate appropriate treatment and investigations. Manage patients with complex and multiple medical conditions. Recognize and respond promptly to clinical deterioration and medical emergencies. Develop individualized treatment and management plans based on clinical findings and evidence-based practices. Coordinate patient care with emergency medicine, critical care, surgery, and other medical specialties when required. Work closely with nurses, allied health professionals, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Ensure appropriate admission, discharge, referral, and follow-up planning. Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation and patient records. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement, teaching, and professional development activities. Support high standards of patient safety and clinical care in accordance with hospital policies and guidelines.

Requirements

MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution. Recognized postgraduate qualification in Acute Medicine, Internal Medicine, or an equivalent specialty. Relevant post-specialization clinical experience as a Specialist/Consultant in Acute Medicine. Strong experience in the assessment and management of patients with acute and complex medical conditions. Experience managing medical emergencies and recognizing clinical deterioration. Strong knowledge of evidence-based approaches to acute medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. UK CCT, American Board, Australian Board, Canadian, or equivalent Western qualifications are preferred. Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Commitment to patient safety and high standards of clinical practice.
