Application/R&D Chemist

For our client, a chemical company in Leuven, we are currently looking for an Application/R&D chemist to further expand the team. You will work closely with our extensive, dynamic team of driven Application and R&D colleagues. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for supporting ongoing projects regarding the development of new formulations and their application with their customers.

• You perform functional tests in the cleanroom lab. This primarily encompasses performing the complete photolithographic process: coating silicon wafers, exposing and developing, followed by an extensive inspection (thickness measurement, microscopy,...) of the obtained coatings and patterns,
• In addition, you are also responsible for performing a wide range of tests regarding material characterization (tensile tests, DMA, TMA, chemical compatibility, adhesion,...), sometimes in combination with different types of aging tests.
• You occasionally perform analytical tests (viscosity, FTIR, UV-VIS, fluorescence, TGA, DSC...),
• Where necessary, you prepare and filter the necessary formulations in advance,
• You report results and further monitor statistical data,
• You perform basic maintenance on equipment,
• You contribute daily to the safety culture by following safety guidelines and – meetings and by signaling any potential risks.
• You have a bachelor in chemistry option chemistry or a master in chemistry.
• You learn quickly, the necessary training will be provided
• Able to work reliably and disciplined
• Great sense of accuracy and detail
• Critical and observant during measurement and when processing your measurement results
• A very good working knowledge of English (written and spoken).
