Your Tasks

• You develop robust data pipelines (Python + SQL) for the operation of a Data Warehouse and contribute significantly to the definition and construction of a suitable data model.
• You are responsible for the operation of our data platform, which enables diverse user groups to make decisions.
• You take on the technical leadership of an agile engineering team that covers the entire software development lifecycle: from requirements, architecture, and design to implementation and testing, through to deployment, operations, and support.
• You are responsible for the architecture, pay attention to product quality, and actively identify and reduce technical debt.
• You keep an eye on the costs, time, and budget of development and make data-driven and holistic decisions.
• You lead a core engineering team through the development process, establish standards, and ensure continuous process improvements.
• You are the first point of contact and sparring partner for the Product Owner, accompany requirement analysis, and exchange ideas with key users.
• You take responsibility for the personal and professional development of the software engineers in your team.

Your Profile

• Experience: You have at least 4 years of professional experience in Data Engineering or software development (outside of your studies) and are ready for a technical leadership role (or already have initial experience).
• Tech Stack: You possess deep, field-tested knowledge in the construction and management of a Data Warehouse and software development in the backend (Python, etc.) as well as in the frontend (Vue, React, etc.).
• Cloud & Architecture: Cloud-native technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), analytical databases (BigQuery, Snowflake), and Data Warehousing are your daily tools. You have a strong architectural understanding (including design patterns such as Strategy Pattern, Clean Code, modular architectures).
• Quality & Operations: Automated testing, CI/CD, IT security, and best practices in deployment are non-negotiable for you. Experience with highly scalable, data-intensive systems is a big plus.
• Agile Mindset & Leadership: You have high initiative, work strongly data-driven, and enjoy sharing knowledge and taking your team to the next level.
• Languages: Very good English skills; German skills are a plus (or the willingness to expand them).
• Education: Completed IT degree or a comparable qualification with sound practical experience.
