Technical Lead (Java)

Daily tasks

• providing services in a project within the insurance industry,
• acting as a Tech Lead in a scrum team, including supporting the team, determining the technological direction, and making architectural decisions,
• active programming in Java technology,
• designing and developing the architecture of systems and microservices,
• collaborating with the Product Owner and the business to refine requirements and translate them into technical solutions,
• collaborating with other scrum teams,
• establishing technical standards (coding, architecture, integrations) and ensuring compliance,
• conducting code reviews and ensuring the quality of code and solutions,
• mentoring and developing the competencies of the development team,
• supporting the team in solving technical problems,
• designing and supervising system and API integrations,
• ensuring the performance, security, and scalability of solutions,
• participating in technological decisions and risk assessment,
• utilizing Agentic AI / AI in the development process,
• project location: Warsaw,
• service delivery mode: hybrid (meetings 3 times a week at the client's office in Warsaw),
• project budget: up to 180 PLN/h + VAT, depending on experience and the scope of services provided.

Requirements

Competencies required to provide services:

minimum 5+ years of commercial experience in designing and building web systems based on the Java programming language,

experience in building microservices architectures and distributed systems,

very good knowledge of architectural and integration patterns,

ability to design APIs and system integrations,

knowledge of DDD (Domain-Driven Design),

experience working with relational databases and Event-Driven Architecture,

knowledge of the observability area,

experience in code review, mentoring, and leading a technical team, cross-team collaboration, co-creating technological decisions, and risk assessment,

knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes),

knowledge of English at least at the B2 level.

Nice to have:

basic practical knowledge of the cloud (Azure preferred),

knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps,

knowledge of Agentic AI / AI in SDLC (e.g., using AI in development, automation, supporting architectural decisions).
