Senior Backend Engineer (Java/Kotlin)

Daily tasks

• providing services in a project for a European investment platform in the FinTech sector,
• participating in a POC for a new CRM and customer-engagement platform, supporting communication and customer journeys,
• designing and developing backend services and integrations between the customer-engagement platform and internal systems,
• developing solutions using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot,
• designing and implementing REST API and integrations handling events and data changes in real-time,
• preparing, transforming, and modeling data used by the platform,
• defining data contracts and data quality control mechanisms,
• creating automated tests and supporting integration and end-to-end tests,
• utilizing AWS services, including RDS and S3, as well as Terraform,
• collaborating with Backend, Data, Product, CRM, and Marketing Growth teams in an international environment,
• documenting POC results, technical risks, and recommendations for subsequent stages of the solution's development,
• service delivery: 100% remote,
• project budget: up to 160 PLN/h + VAT, depending on experience and the scope of services provided.

Requirements

Competencies required to provide services:

minimum 6 years of experience in implementing backend or integration projects,

very good knowledge of Java and/or Kotlin,

practical experience with Spring Boot and Maven,

experience in designing, developing, and integrating REST API,

experience in implementing solutions based on event-driven architecture and asynchronous integrations,

practical experience with AWS, particularly with services used in the data and integration areas, including RDS and S3,

practical knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code,

very good knowledge of SQL and experience in working with data, its transformation, or modeling,

experience in creating automated tests for backend services and integrations,

the ability to independently implement complex technical issues and collaborate with technical and business teams,

knowledge of English at C1 level.

Nice to have

experience with CRM platforms, marketing automation, or customer-engagement,

experience in designing scalable distributed systems,

knowledge of DDD and experience in modernizing or decomposing monolithic systems,

experience in the Financial Services / FinTech sector or other regulated environments,

experience in the area of performance, reliability, and observability of solutions running in AWS.
