Senior Automation Tester/QA (Java)

Daily tasks

• performing services in an e-commerce project. The Senior Automation Tester will be responsible for implementing new functionalities, supporting product development, and actively participating in technological and organizational transformation towards modern Agile practices and modern system architecture,
• designing and developing all aspects of testing,
• collaborating with the Product Owner and the development team in defining acceptance criteria and test scenarios,
• designing, executing, and maintaining test scenarios and test automation solutions at all levels (automated, regression, exploratory tests, etc.),
• creating and optimizing test frameworks and integrating them with deployment pipelines,
• participating in production and test code reviews to ensure appropriate test case coverage,
• monitoring test results, application bugs, and system performance,
• ensuring effective information flow within the team and active participation in release processes and bug management,
• sharing best practices and processes related to testing and quality throughout the organization,
• promoting a quality culture and mentoring team members in this regard,
• influencing team development by implementing continuous improvements and testing best practices,
• serving as a representative of the QA Center of Practice, promoting its standards, and co-creating strategies based on the team's experience,
• project location: Kraków,
• service delivery mode: remote,
• project budget: up to 150 PLN/h + VAT, depending on experience and the scope of services provided.

Requirements

Competencies required to perform the services:

min. 6 years of experience in software testing, both manual and automated,

very good knowledge of Java in the context of creating automated tests,

good knowledge of software testing theory,

very good knowledge of modern frameworks and tools for test automation, such as:  Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, Allure ,

practical experience with the TestRail tool,

extensive experience in various types of tests (from unit tests to end-to-end, functional, and non-functional), integrated with CI/CD processes,

knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles,

experience working with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools, such as: Jenkins, TeamCity, Kibana, Grafana ,

knowledge of API testing and REST architecture,

knowledge of cloud solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure) ,

knowledge regarding modern system architectures (including microservices, Event-Driven Architecture),

ability to communicate fluently in English.

Nice to have:

experience working with SQL and relational databases,

ability to write clean and maintainable code in various programming languages, such as: Java, Python, Kotlin, JavaScript, TypeScript,

experience working according to the BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) approach,

experience in mobile application test automation,

experience in using AI in the software development process (e.g., for code generation, refactoring, test automation, documentation creation, debugging, prototyping, architectural decision-making),

practical knowledge of tools such as GitHub Copilot and Copilot Chat .
