C++ Developer/ Embedded Software Engineer

Daily tasks

• development and maintenance of firmware and embedded components in C++, responsible for communication with devices and preliminary data processing,
• development of new functionalities, refactoring existing code, and reducing technical debt,
• maintenance of a desktop application based on C++, Qt, and QML, specifically implementing critical fixes,
• development of communication modules using MQTT and integration with devices and other elements of the IoT ecosystem,
• working with device communication using, among others, the CAN bus,
• implementation of logic and data processing mechanisms in the application and embedded layers,
• development of components using shared memory and IPC mechanisms,
• maintenance and development of projects using CMake and qmake,
• creation and development of unit and integration tests, as well as debugging complex C++ applications,
• analysis of existing code, identifying problems, and proposing and implementing optimizations,
• collaboration with the architect and Backend, Flutter, Frontend, QA, and DevOps teams,
• project location: Wrocław,
• service delivery model: remote,
• project budget: up to 150 PLN/h + VAT, depending on experience and the scope of services provided.

Requirements

Competencies required to perform the services:

minimum 7 years of commercial experience in C++ programming, including experience in implementing embedded or system projects,

very good, practical knowledge of C++ and experience in analyzing, refactoring, and optimizing existing code,

experience in firmware and/or embedded software development,

practical experience with MQTT,

knowledge of CMake,

experience with OpenSSL and Protocol Buffers (Protobuf),

experience in creating unit tests using GoogleTest and integration tests,

experience in debugging and maintaining complex C++ applications,

experience in implementing cross-platform solutions,

very good analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify technical problems and propose optimizations,

a proactive approach to task execution and technical cooperation,

knowledge of English at C1 level.

Nice to have:

practical knowledge of Qt and QML,

experience with Linux Embedded and cross-compilation processes,

knowledge of Yocto,

experience with CAN communication,

knowledge of qmake, Boost, Cucumber, or RapidCheck,

experience in maintaining large, multi-layered C++ projects,

knowledge of the Felgo framework,

experience in projects in the areas of Healthcare, Medical Devices, or IoT.
