About the position As part of the development of its expertise communities, Scalian is opening a new Practice: "Software Product Engineering".
The "Software Product Engineering" Practice is a key growth lever for Scalian, at the crossroads of: complex software environments, industrial & IT challenges, cloud transformations and modern architectures.
The Practice Director is responsible for carrying a vision, building an offering and a technical organization capable of supporting Scalian's ambition on high-criticality software products. This role requires a builder leader, capable of uniting a community of experts, providing strong technical credibility and influencing the Group's strategic orientations.
Added value of the position Construction of a strategic practice for the Group. Contribution to major technological orientations. Strengthening Scalian's credibility on complex software projects. Direct impact on conquering high-value markets.
Strategic missions
- Definition of the Software Product Engineering strategy
Define the technical vision and the orientations of the practice. Identify strategic segments (industry, banking/finance, complex IT). Build a roadmap to increase the maturity of the teams.
- Construction of a differentiating Software offering
Design offerings across the entire software cycle: architecture, development, integration, migrations. Define technical and methodological standards. Develop frameworks, patterns, technological foundations.
- Leadership & animation of an expert community
Aggregate and structure a team of experts (architects, technical referents...). Develop skills in key technologies: Java, Python, C, databases, CI/CD, DevOps. Establish a model for knowledge sharing & capitalization.
- Technical influence & commercial support
Act as a referent during important pitches. Impact during pitches and C-level interactions. Carry Scalian's technical credibility to strategic clients.
Operational responsibilities Definition and deployment of delivery models. Intervention on sensitive or critical projects. Steering bids and participation in major responses. Structuring a sub-practice or area of expertise.
Qualifications Experience Minimum 10 years in software development, integration or complex software engineering.
Technical skills IT infrastructures (cloud / on‑premise). Modern application architectures. Languages: Java, Python, C. Databases: Oracle, SQL, SAP. Cloud migrations / transformations / IS mergers. English required (minimum B2 level)
Soft Skills Recognized leadership & ability to influence. Strong assertiveness & aptitude to challenge technical orientations. Strategic vision & business sense. Ability to unite a community of experts.
