Basic Function

As a member of the Data Center Supply Chain team, the Senior Program Manager, Project Logistics will lead domestic movement of high-value, long-lead owner-furnished, contractor-installed (OFCI) equipment from the agreed OEM handoff through delivery to the defined receiving point. The role directs qualified primary transport providers for project cargo, oversized/overweight moves, heavy haul, specialized final mile and recovery. The role protects schedule, equipment condition and cost while coordinating readiness and receiving requirements with the Control Tower and Storage/Site lead.

SB Energy is building a procurement team under a common role profile, bringing together complementary electrical, mechanical, commercial, and logistics strengths. Within this team, this role focuses on transportation and project logistics, including transportation planning, project cargo, and site delivery. The manager may lead transportation and logistics activities for an individual project, manage equipment movements across multiple projects, or lead a shared transportation or logistics planning assignment.

Assignments may evolve as projects advance, workloads shift, and business priorities change. The manager is expected to contribute beyond their primary area, including broader procurement, sourcing, supplier development, or planning assignments, based on relevant experience, equipment knowledge, readiness, workload, and appropriate specialist support. Each manager maintains clear ownership of assigned responsibilities, cross-trains colleagues, and provides structured handoffs and backup coverage.

Candidates must demonstrate depth in transportation and project logistics, together with the flexibility and willingness to build capability across the broader function. Candidates are not expected to be specialists in every electrical, mechanical, commercial, or logistics discipline.

Responsibilities

Transportation Planning: Build domestic movement plans linked to equipment and PO records, the agreed OEM handoff, approved Required on Site Dates, Control Tower supplier readiness, storage capacity and construction sequence. Select qualified road, rail or other domestic modes for the actual route and equipment.

Project Cargo and Delivery: Direct qualified providers to complete route surveys, permits, escorts, load plans, transport engineering, and handling methods. Obtain designated Engineering and site approvals; coordinate access, unloading and rigging interfaces, receiving windows, and backup capacity.

Shipment Release: Authorize domestic dispatch within delegated authority after applicable OEM handoff, supplier readiness, transport, storage and receiving-site gates clear. Confirm packaging, dimensions, weight, insurance, authorized service scope and evidence. Record holds and resume only after designated clearance.

Execution and Recovery: Direct provider execution and resolve milestone delays, capacity gaps, port disruption, failed deliveries, and time-critical recovery. Keep planned, forecast, and actual dates distinct. Escalate decisions beyond delegated authority with options, cost and schedule exposure, and a decision deadline.

Provider and Commercial Management: Manage forwarders, carriers, lead logistics providers, and project-cargo specialists under approved agreements, rates, allocation rules, and service levels. Define transport requirements for service schedules and statements of work with Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Risk/Insurance.

Condition and Claims: Own transport-incident investigation and transport claims tracking. Secure pickup, delivery, and overage, shortage, and damage evidence; issue notices within applicable deadlines. Coordinate recovery with Legal and Risk/Insurance and obtain designated approval for settlements, salvage, or disposal.

Cost and Records: Validate quotes and invoices against approved rates, services, and evidence; provide commitments, accrual inputs, and forecasts to Finance. Maintain transport milestones, provider assignments, costs, exceptions, and evidence in the approved OFCI register with the Control Tower.

Handoffs and Reverse Logistics: Provide transport evidence to Inventory, Storage and Site Logistics for the consolidated custody and logistics handoff record. Coordinate returns, repairs, replacements, and inter-project transfers after disposition and commercial approvals. Construction retains site control and receiving acknowledgment.

Performance and Improvement: Lead routine transport provider reviews, scorecards, corrective actions, and contingency planning. Apply approved supply chain controls, maintain transport playbooks, and provide evidence and proposed improvements to Supply Chain Governance and Assurance. Technical, contracting, payment, and legal approvals remain with designated owners.
