*Job Summary*
About the Position
We are looking for an experienced and dependable Journeyman Carpenter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will have strong carpentry skills, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform general carpentry duties on construction projects
- Framing, forming, backing, blocking, finishing, and installation work
- Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install materials accurately
- Operate hand and power tools safely
- Coordinate with supervisors, other trades, and crew members
- Identify and resolve construction issues as they arise
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow company safety procedures and site requirements
- Assist with material handling and site organization as required
- Complete work to company quality and productivity standards
Qualifications
- Journeyman Carpenter certification or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Previous construction experience required
- Strong knowledge of carpentry methods, materials, and tools
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Physically capable of performing construction-related duties
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation preferred
- Own basic hand tools preferred
- Safety certifications such as Fall Protection, WHMIS, First Aid, or other applicable tickets are considered an asset
