AI Native Software Engineering Consultant (C# / .NET)

For developers who want to continue evolving, mastering programming alone is no longer enough. An understanding of architecture, system design, and how AI can be used as an integrated part of the development process is also required. Your journey as a consultant at SALT begins with a five-week accelerator where you build the engineering and AI competence that the market demands today – and which will become even more important tomorrow. After that, you will be matched with one of our customers, where you will put your new knowledge into practice as a consultant.

Your consulting career at SALT As a consultant at SALT, you will become part of a network of developers and engineers working at leading companies within, among others, fintech, retail, telecom, and industry. Our commercial team, with over 20 years of experience in the industry, matches you with assignments where you can continue to develop within modern software engineering, AI, and system design. Through our established educational activities, coaching, and the SALT Community, you will continue to build your competence alongside other consultants and alumni. We have regular AWs and internal events where you have the opportunity to meet colleagues and build your network even between assignments.

About the accelerator The accelerator is part of your path into the consulting role and is developed for those who already master the basics of programming. During five intensive full-time weeks, you will have the opportunity to raise your technical level and build competence in areas that are becoming increasingly important in future engineering roles – from system design and architecture to AI and advanced engineering practices. You will work together with other developers in projects and team environments that reflect modern development organizations. The focus is on developing your engineering thinking, your ability to make well-founded technical decisions, and working AI-native throughout the entire development process. The final two weeks are dedicated to a larger project where you put your knowledge into practice and build a solution that demonstrates both technical breadth, system understanding, and the ability to work as a modern, AI-native engineer.

Practical information Your employment at SALT begins with a five-week full-time accelerator at our office in Stockholm. After a successful accelerator, you will be matched with assignments at one of our customers. The goal is for you to step into your first assignment with a strengthened engineering profile, deeper technical understanding, and the ability to work as an AI-native developer. You will learn to: Use AI as a natural part of the development process, from design and implementation to testing, quality assurance, and documentation.

Raise your competence level regarding system design, architecture, and technical choices based on real business and system requirements.

Evaluate, improve, and quality assure AI-generated solutions.

Communicate technical decisions and collaborate effectively with both developers and other roles in the organization.

Are you the one we are looking for? We are looking for you who have already worked a few years in a developer role and now want to invest in the next phase of your career. You need to: Have at least 2–3 years of experience in professional software development.

Have experience in development in C#/.NET or Java, where C#/.NET is our primary technology area during the accelerator.

Have worked with version control and collaboration in development teams.

Have a good understanding of object-oriented programming and basic design principles.

Be fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Have permanent residence permit in Sweden.

Be permanently resident in or near Stockholm.

It is a merit if you: Have experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

Have worked with architecture or system design issues.

Have used AI tools as part of your development work.

Have experimented with agentic workflows or AI-driven processes.

Have experience in code review, mentorship, or technical leadership.
