Safran.AI - AI operating in the real world A subsidiary of Safran Electronics & Defense, Safran.AI designs AI solutions applied to complex data such as high-resolution satellite imagery, FMV video streams, and acoustic signals. These solutions rely on algorithms capable of automatically detecting and identifying objects of interest in the intelligence, defense, and aeronautics sectors. Since its integration into Safran in September 2024, Safran.AI is also contributing to the group's transformation by applying AI solutions to the fields of Industry 4.0. For example, AI-automated image analysis can assist controllers in charge of inspecting critical parts by helping them detect potential anomalies from digital images. Your team You will join a development team working on projects requiring on-premise deployments and you will be responsible for the design and continuous development of our product and our infrastructure using primarily Python, PostgreSQL, React, Typescript, and other innovative technologies. Beyond execution, you will be a proactive proposer regarding architectural choices and technical trade-offs: you will challenge the existing, propose alternatives, and document your decisions. AI agents (Claude, Copilot, or equivalents) are an integral part of our daily toolkit, and we are looking for someone who knows how to use them with discernment — to go faster without sacrificing rigor.

The challenges of the position As a Front-end Developer, you will notably:

• Design, architect, and develop our next-generation user interfaces, ensuring performance, robustness, and scalability→ Package and integrate our APIs into modern web platforms to extend our commercial reach→ Make a difference through quality UX, by improving workflow efficiency and reducing operational costs for our users→ Collaborate closely with back-end teams and business experts to understand end-user needs and design the right technical solutions→ Contribute to promoting a strong engineering culture and a requirement for quality

On the stack side: Our teams primarily use Typescript (React) for the front-end part, which communicates with a Python back-end and a PostgreSQL database. We also use Docker for deployment, and our DevOps rely on Ansible, Terraform, and the Prometheus/Grafana suite for automation and monitoring. You will evolve in a multi-workspace context with associated security rules, which requires adaptability, rigor, and resilience.

About you

• You have approximately 6 years of experience in a similar position
• You use a modern web stack, with imperative mastery of React and Typescript.→ You have experience in deploying complex systems on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP...).→ You design elegant solutions and think like an engineer: you evaluate trade-offs, anticipate technical debt, and know how to say no to a bad idea. → You are passionate about developing quality code and automated testing, and know how to deliver on time.→ You possess an excellent sense of organization, are autonomous, and have the ability to establish reports.→ You are comfortable speaking and writing in English and are motivated to collaborate with international interlocutors (clients, partners, open source community). → Experience with MapBox, Leaflet, or products related to geomatics would be a real plus, as well as knowledge of WebGL.→ Fullstack capability (Python, Node.js...) and initial experience in end-to-end responsibility for a product would be complementary assets.
• You follow or contribute to the front community (technical blogs, conferences, open source projects, active monitoring) and love sharing what you learn. → Experience in startup or high-reliability environments (cloud, defense, aeronautics...) with direct responsibility for the maintenance and improvement of products, infrastructures, and processes would be a very strong asset.
