About the company
SÆPTUM is a medical device deeptech company, based in Hérouville-Saint-Clair, whose mission is to revolutionize vascular access through the design of next-generation medical devices. We are developing an intelligent valve system patented in Europe and the United States, designed to secure and simplify vascular access and enable the large-scale deployment of home infusion therapies (hemodialysis, chemotherapy, intensive care, parenteral nutrition). Development is supported by local authorities and the French State and relies on strategic industrial partnerships. Our quality system is ISO 13485 certified and our products are developed in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2017/745. As a human-sized and growing structure, you will find a broad scope, concrete responsibilities from the start of your position, and direct contact with product development.
Your tasks
Created to directly assist the CTO in product design and validation activities, this position is held within a complementary team, in an open space, where everyone has full visibility of the product and a direct impact on technical directions. Environment of a young, fast-growing company: innovative projects, open topics, short cycles.
- Design and evolve device parts and assemblies using SOLIDWORKS;
- Write protocols, operating procedures, and test reports;
- Manage the internal 3D printing fleet, lead prototyping, and anticipate manufacturing constraints;
- Perform or oversee numerical simulation studies (mechanical, flow) and correlate simulation and testing;
- Contribute to product risk analysis, the technical file, and technological monitoring, as well as the protection of intellectual property.
Requirements
- Engineering degree or equivalent (Master's level) in mechanical engineering, product design, biomedical engineering, or a related field;
- 3 years of experience in mechanical design in a design office, ideally on technical products with high reliability constraints - more junior profiles, who are autonomous and have a strong appetite for products, will be considered;
- Confirmed mastery of SOLIDWORKS (solid and surface modeling, assemblies, drawing, tolerancing);
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (plastic injection, machining, additive manufacturing, assembly) and associated materials;
- Professional English is essential;
- Ability to design and instrument a test bench and to exploit measurement data (pressure, flow);
- Appreciated: numerical simulation, experience in medical devices, and knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 14971, ISO 10993, MDR 2017/745 standards.
