CDL Class A Truck Driver (48-State OTR) Job Description Position Title: CDL Class A Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver Job Summary: The CDL Class A Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating a commercial motor vehicle to transport freight throughout the continental United States (48 states). Drivers must comply with all federal, state, and company regulations while ensuring timely pickup and delivery of cargo. Key Responsibilities: Operate a Class A commercial vehicle safely and efficiently across 48 states. Transport freight according to dispatch schedules and customer requirements. Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of equipment. Maintain accurate electronic logs and required DOT documentation. Comply with all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety regulations. Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit. Communicate regularly with dispatch regarding load status, delays, and route updates. Report accidents, traffic violations, vehicle defects, or maintenance issues immediately. Maintain a professional appearance and positive customer relations at pickup and delivery locations. Plan routes and manage hours of service in compliance with federal regulations. Qualifications: Valid Class A CDL. Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate. Acceptable driving record and background check. Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and Hours of Service requirements. Ability to operate ELD (Electronic Logging Device) systems. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods. Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds when necessary. Ability to enter and exit the tractor multiple times daily. Ability to work in varying weather conditions. Work Environment: Over-the-road travel throughout the continental United States. Extended periods away from home may be required. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. License/Certification Requirements: Valid CDL Class A License. DOT Medical Card.
